Some torts (civil wrong doing) are best handled via a class action lawsuit. A class action is a type of lawsuit brought, collectively, by a large group of people who find themselves similarly affected through no fault of there own. Generally speaking, theses actions are “David vs. Goliath” type lawsuits.

Examples of class actions can include cases against governments for a variety of issues or pharmaceutical / medical companies for harmful medications or devices. Often, proceeding on an individual case-by-case basis is not feasible against such large, deep pocketed defendants due to high costs and other litigation risks.
