Paul Miller is a partner at Howie, Sacks & Henry LLP. He is an airplane accident litigation lawyer, mass tort lawyer, class action lawyer, and government accountability lawyer that has placed him at the centre of some of the most significant plaintiff-side cases in Canadian legal history. He sits on the board of directors of Public Justice (US) – a distinction held by very few Canadian lawyers.

Paul was lead counsel for the trial team in the Ukrainian International Airlines Flight 752 litigation, producing a landmark Ontario Court of Appeal ruling on airline liability in conflict zones. He was co-lead counsel for victims of the 2005 Air France crash at Toronto Pearson Airport (settlement over $20 million) and litigated the Fly Jamaica Flight OJ 256 Class Action ($5.55 million). In 2024, he and co-counsel secured a $22.5 million judgment for patients of the Toronto Cosmetic Clinic (Dr. 6ix class action).

His public interest work includes 23 Canadians in September 11 litigation, Canadian diplomats affected by Havana Syndrome, Canadian veterans harmed by Mefloquine, Pikangikum First Nation’s $2 billion federal lawsuit, and BC’s opioid class action. His product liability portfolio covers Allergan breast implants, Essure (Bayer), hernia mesh, St. Jude devices, talcum powder, asbestos, 70+ transvaginal mesh settlements, and six cochlear ear implant settlements.
