Daniel spent close to two decades at one of Canada’s leading personal injury and medical negligence firms, moving from associate to partner, before starting a practice where he could take on fewer files and give each one his own attention. What Daniel Handles in Toronto and the GTA
His practice covers motor vehicle collisions – car, motorcycle, pedestrian, cyclist and transit – along with slip and fall and occupiers’ liability claims, catastrophic brain and spinal cord injuries, Statutory Accident Benefits disputes and LAT hearings, fire loss and property damage, product liability, wrongful death, long- and short-term disability claims, and complex medical negligence including misdiagnosis, surgical error, delayed diagnosis, birth injury and medication harm.
Catastrophic Impairment at the Licence Appeal Tribunal
Accident benefits work is a significant part of the practice. Daniel has appeared multiple times at the Licence Appeal Tribunal, including at catastrophic impairment hearings – the determination that decides whether an injured person can access the enhanced benefits Ontario’s auto insurance system provides for the most serious injuries.
In Amin v. CAA Insurance Company (2026 CanLII 6233), acting for a seriously injured accident victim, Daniel established catastrophic impairment, and the Tribunal accepted a combined 55% whole-person impairment over the insurer’s contested ratings.

Long-Term Care Class Actions
Daniel is co-counsel for the plaintiffs in Pugliese v. Chartwell (2024 ONSC 1135), one of eight proposed class actions arising from COVID-19 outbreaks in Ontario long-term care homes. The Superior Court certified six of the eight -Chartwell among them – to proceed as class proceedings in negligence in March 2024. The litigation is ongoing.
Beyond Toronto
While the office is in North York, Daniel’s practice covers the province. He travels regularly to represent clients in northern, rural and Indigenous communities from Timmins and Sudbury to Kenora and Fort Frances. Serving Northern Ontario.

What to Expect

On timing: in most cases, Ontario’s basic limitation period is two years from when you knew, or reasonably ought to have known, you had a claim. Several situations carry far shorter notice deadlines – seven days to notify your own auto insurer, and ten days for a claim involving a municipality. These are strict, so calling promptly matters.
